A new play by Zach Stasz and Anthony White
April 24-May 4, 2009 at the MuCCC $10
Set in a slightly run down apartment in a slightly run down city, A Little Happy Mess explores what is means to make decisions for yourself when the only two people you have (your best friend and your lover) are pulling you in opposite directions like a rag doll. Carrie Williams, a 25-year-old girl who never seemed to amount to anything is forced to choose between her best friend, who she's known since when they were in diapers, and her 35-year-old artist boyfriend, who wants her to settle down and marry him. The result is a humorous and sometimes frightening tale of just how far these two will go to win her over and what happens when they go too far.

NEW PLAY "A HAPPY LITTLE MESS" BY ROCHESTER TEAM
*METHOD MACHINE and Stasz/Pruitt Productions team up again, this time playing in the MuCCC*
Rochester, NY - METHOD MACHINE, Rochester's premier performance and art company, and Stasz/Pruitt productions will be presenting the second theatrical production at MuCCC, in the Neighborhood of the Arts. *A Little Happy Mess* is a new play written by Zach Stasz and Anthony White, about three twenty-somethings on the verge of growing up.
Set in a slightly run down apartment in a slightly run down city, *A Little Happy Mess* explores what it means to make decisions for yourself when the only two people you have (your best friend and your lover) are pulling you in opposite directions like a rag doll.
This new show reunites the team that presented last year’s hit, FAT PIG. *Happy Mess* is directed by Zach Stasz and stars Shannon Laverty as Carrie, Nicholas Templeton as Paul and Joanne Pendergast as Mara. The show is produced by Elliot Pruitt and David Henderson. “We exhilarated to be presting a new play by such an ambitious gang of artists on the verge of great discoveries,” says METHOD MACHINE Artistic Director David Henderson. “Zach and Elliot proved with FAT PIG that they know what an audience likes, what they want and what they don’t know they want.” Like the founding members of METHOD MACHINE, Stasz, Pruitt and their company have been working together in academic situations, but now have taken their collaboration even further. Nazareth College, SUNY Empire and MCC have been the stomping grounds and haven for the strong relationships they have built. This production at MuCCC will provide the company with a professional level to match their ambition and talent.
Of METHOD MACHINE's future, Artistic Director David Henderson states, "It’s unreal the success METHOD MACHINE has achieved in barely two years. Four hit “stage” shows, five provocative exhibits and we opened our own space, The Method Lab. What we have planned for our future will bring the company and Rochester to the forefront of performance and art on a regional and national level.” The company’s successful production of EDGE is slated to tour nationally, the continued development of the STD Musical, “LUX IN TENEBRIS” and the pursuit of large scale instillations and even more provocative exhibitions.
