Inspired by 48 Hour Play Festivals and Paula Vogel’s Bake-Offs, Nickel Flour hosts its second "48 Hour Play Plate-Off," a playwriting challenge. Join us at this celebratory cold-read-marathon of the scripts written during the 48 hour challenge. We will start at 6PM and go until we run out of pages (or 10PM, whichever comes first).
Feel free to drop in and out during that window of time. There will be no feedback, just lots of applause. Readers will be chosen on the spot from those willing in the audience. Free to enter and free to attend. All playwrights and readers are volunteers. If interested in participating in the playwriting challenge as a playwright, please fill out this form for more information - https://forms.gle/sz6pjRinUr2Xxr5FA

The brainchild of playwright/director Samantha Marchant and artist Drea Bim, was created to provide a home for the weird and wonderful artists that make up the DIY art scenes of Western New York. Shows performed at MuCCC: 1st Impressions (2021 Rochester Fringe Festival), Firewater (March 2022), And the Four Last Things (Oct-Nov 2023). Fall 2022, they held the first 48 Hour Play Plate-Off, a free-to-enter playwriting challenge open to all in which eight playwrights, including six locals, participated to write a total of 140 pages in 48 hours. Next up is their Spring 2024 production of Let You Be Mine.
