Ludmila is a multidisciplinary artist, poet, writer, translator, and editor based in Rochester, NY. Originally from Chisinau, Moldova, with a richly diverse heritage (Romanian, Greek, Polish, Ukrainian, Russian) and trilingual upbringing in Romanian, Russian, and English, she holds two Master’s degrees—in American Studies from Moldova State University and Creative Writing from the University of Warwick.

Her career spans political interpretation, university teaching, creative direction, and freelance work in design, translation, and literary editing. Reigniting her childhood passion for drawing during the COVID-19 pandemic, Begley began creating ink graphics in 2021 and later explored color, painting, and mixed media, especially during a residency at The Yards Collective.
